Hairstyles for small girls
Though there are many hair styles that would be appropriate for little girls, there are also many hairstyles that are not suitable.
Some of the factors to be considered while selecting a hairstyle for a little girl are:
- how thick her hair is
- what type of hair she has
- whether she is able to look after the hair,
- how much patience her mother has
If the girl has straight thick hair, a short bob with straight bangs would be suitable since you can highlight the straightness and the sleek look of smooth healthy hair. However, it will need to be trimmed frequently to keep it looking good. This hairstyle can be used for thinner hair also, but it is harder to keep it neat.
For curly or wavy hair, a short layered cut like a like a pixie or gamine cut would highlight the curls. It will be easier to keep this hairstyle in place as the curls will give it some movement and shape. As before, as soon as the hair grows becomes a little too long, it will droop and look untidy.
For 10 year old child, certain hairstyles may be difficult to maintain, especially if she is a very active child. Since mothers do not have a lot of time to spend on a child’s hair and if the child is not interested in her appearance, you also want her to have a very easy-to-manage hairstyle. As she becomes older, and learns to do up her hair, she can let it grow longer, but then the responsibility of keeping it neat is up to her. If she cannot manage it, the hair will have to be cut short.
